Inspired by my daughter’s love of Dinosaurs and watching her play with her toys and Lego figures, I thought of creating a 'special, vibrant little backdrop’ for her
storytelling. My basic pencil drawings soon developed into original designs and I sourced a UK based company that could print a prototype (one that would comply with CE standards).
The feedback? "Mamma, it's like I'm in the world of dinosaurs!". I was thrilled and wanted to share the joy with other parents; I thought this was also a great opportunity to reduce screen time and spend time playing together. I showed my product around and carried out a survey to gauge interest, which was very encouraging.
Ideally, I would have liked to complement my detailed designs with a more developed final product to enhance the user experience (e.g. foldable format, easy wiping etc.), and find a suitable manufacturer. I sold my products on my website + via Amazon FBA, and promoted them in person and on social media.
